The story of 74th Bakery

Made for fun
Baked for perfection

There is nothing more gratifying in the world than to have people that you don’t know, praise you to the heavens, for your passion! It’s simply euphoric!

- Founder of 74th Bakery

Our Story

It all started with a business trip to New York city several years ago, when the founder of 74th Street Bakery tasted some infamous gourmet cookies, from a bakery on 74th Street. After trying these cookies, it became his mission in life to reproduce them, not for retail, but just for himself and family to enjoy. He wanted to be able to make these cookies whenever he pleased in the comfort of his home! He tried endless recipes with different variations of ingredients. He also brought them into work every single day for 6 months (in a row!), as he wanted his co-workers’ feedback. His co-workers thought he had gone crazy but absolutely enjoyed the delicious treats he’d bring in.

Despite being made fun of, his passion to bake the “perfect gourmet cookie” kept him focused. After 4 years of effort and hundreds of cookie batches later, he perfected the recipes to a point where he was finally satisfied. By this time, friends (and even the people that were making fun of him) started asking him to bake cookies for them and slowly word of mouth started making its way around and slowly slowly his inbox started to flood with cookie requests.

“There is nothing more gratifying in the world than to have people that you don’t know, praise you to the heavens, for your passion! It’s simply euphoric!” - Founder of 74th Street.

Because his passion for cookies had been inspired by this little bakery on 74th Street in New York, as an homage to them, he decided to name his bakery "74th Street Bakery", and the rest is history…
